A tour company has been accused of duping a couple from Parra to the tune of Rs 1.6 lakh which was paid for a foreign trip to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia in May 2019.

According to the complaint Harishchandra Sirsat of Jakhani-Parra had approached the tour company for a Singapore-Malaysia-Indonesia tour and the company had charged the couple Rs 1.6 lakh in advance. While Rs 1.5 lakh was paid in April 2019, the balance Rs 10,000 was paid in May.

Later, the accused had informed the complainant in the second week of May that the Singapore Embassy had rejected their visa and the complainant then demanded a refund of the amount.

Since the tour company did not refund the money, Sirsat filed a complaint with the Mapusa police on February 15.

Acting on the complaint, Mapusa police filed a case against Nirav Mistry of the tour company under Sections 406 and 420 of IPC and PSI Vibha Volvoikar is investigating the case.
